Recently I decided to help creative startups to get some attention by writing a post about their business. Today I am writing about ‘Freebie Pixels‘. The idea behind the site essentially is to help graphic/web designers gain more online exposure. The major difference with Freebie Pixels when looking to similar websites, is that its members control 80% of its advertising, how that works is their members upload graphic design freebies to share with the world, for these freebies they are payed Pixel Points, these points can be used in their Points Store to buy front page advertising, sponsored tweets and other promotional goodies. The site is very new, infact not even a month old but they are growing in members, and the formula seems to work. Personally I think they did a good job by adding the pixel points. There are a lot of websites for designers to upload their work for free, but by rewarding them with advertisement spots is new for me. And I can tell you, even a little spot will gain you some click throughs a month, a perfect way to get some visitors to your personal website! Below I have some screenshots of their website and some screenshots of the ‘How it works‘ section. So if you’re a (web)designer pay them a visit and start sharing some of your works.

The website, as you can see there are different ad spots especially for members

The designers, I like how they used a custom font for the names!
