Meme Movie Posters

Published by on in Poster Design

This is a very creative project created by London-based Stefan van Zoggel. When internet virals (the so called memes) are treated as classic full lengt films, this is what their posters could look like. It’s a series of 29 posters, with on every poster another meme. At the moment of writing, 5 of these posters are for sale, so if you want a meme on the wall, be sure to take a look at Stefans page to see which posters are currently available.

A meme is “an idea, behavior or style that spreads from person to person within a culture.” A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols or practices, which can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals or other imitable phenomena. Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate and respond to selective pressures.
